Pratyaqsha Pathak, Ernst & Young. When i met Pratyaqsha was the first time she was really not confident of cracking any interviews. She did not have good grades in academic and strongly believed that she did not have what it takes to get a job. I asked her why her grades were low, she said because she did not study. Then, “what did you do if you were not studying” I asked. She said i like travelling and meeting new people and that’s what i do mostly. Then I asked, “ so did you learn anything which you were travelling and meeting people?”. She said YES. I finally said, “that all it takes”. Any company that hires you will train you on what they want you to do. You will undergo a training program where you will learn everything. So there key focus is if you have the ability to learn or not. And if you have learnt anything in life that means you have that ability. It doesn’t necessarily have to be academics every time. Tell then whatever you have learnt and what value addition have you had based on that. She gave her interview confidently and got the job.

I am basically a mechanical engineer from Kerala and I have a work experience of 2 and half years and I am about to join for my masters in business administration for the 19-21 academic year. As of now I am having a few calls from IAMS namely Indore, Coimbatore, Vishakhapatnam and all the BB and ne IIMS. I extend my gratitude as I said, so thank you AJ. Success or Nothing!

I met Ashish Sir in Bangalore when I was preparing for CAT. He taught me DI, LR and QUANT. He was really supportive throughout my journey. He was not just a teacher to me he was also a mentor. I still remember having so many personal doubt sessions which I believe he did as a favor. Thank you AJ. Success or Nothing!

Malvika Sharma, Citi Bank. I trained Malvika for a company interview. She hailed from a lower class family and this job was really important. I asked her why do you want this job and she said for money, but she was not sure if she could tell this upfront in the interview. I told her to, she can. Times are changing now; we have been training candidates from a decade that they should not bring up money in their job interviews but now the corporate need smart candidates and they have their own definition of it. I told Malvika to give them a little of her family background in the interview and how financial stability is important. I told her that you can tell the panel that you aspire to grow in life both intellectually and financially. She did her interview honestly and got the job.

Aston Leo, XLRI Jamshedpur. I trained Aston for a complete year and he was really doing good. He solved problems in class and was consistent with the preparation. It was all going well throughout the training session. But after the training was over, Aston came to me one day and said “Sir, I am scoring good in my Mock tests but my score is kind of stuck. It has not improved from last 4-5 mocks i have written”. I asked him if he was analyzing the mocks that he wrote for which he said, no. I taught him how to analyze a mock test effectively and that this point in time when his training was all done, mock test analyses is only going to improve his knowledge further. Later he started analyzing every mock he wrote and witnessed the improvement. Now he is going to XLRI.

Shikha Thakur, IIM C. Shikha joined me in a crash course. She didn’t have much time left before CAT so i advised her to sit for long hours in the institute. Sit with faculties for doubt clearing and also form student groups and study. She would come to the centre everyday at 12 and stay back till 8 pm. The entire staff helped her in every way possible. In this environment she learnt and improved quickly. When we sat to discuss a problem, i used to tweak the problem in n number of ways so that she gets complete conceptual clarity. She is finally going to IIM C.

Preeti Tellis, SCMHRD Pune. Preeti was a very average student from the beginning. She was one of the students in my first batch and i trained her from scratch. We would sit almost every day after class and discuss all the doubts which she had in her homework. Her improvement was very gradual but consistent. First time she wrote a mock CAT, she got 50 percentile but every time she took a test her scores were improving from the previous one. She finally got a good score in CAT but SNAP went even better and she finally took up the GDPI training and converted SCMHRD.

Shivam Chopra, IIM K. Shivam was good in academics and was really hard working. He struggled in the LRDI (Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation) section though. He was not really able to gain speed in that section. He came to me and discussed his problem. I gave him a homework which was to pick 10 LRDI cases for the next day and spend 30 min on each of them. Also I clearly told him not to solve any of them but just to note down all the inferences he can get from each case and then we would discuss. This did the magic for him, all he needed to understand was, those cases are really easy if you draw all the inferences correctly. I also told him to prepare a journal of all the LRDI cases which he comes across and is not able to solve. This also helped him a lot.

Abhishek Srivastava, NMIMS mumbai. He was born and brought up in a place called Jharsuguda in Odisha and was working for TCS in Bangalore. He joined me post CAT for GDPI preparation. He had quit his job for the preparation and had only one call NMIMS, Mumbai. So basically a do or die situation. When he first came to me and i talked to him, he had below average communication skills. It was impossible to crack the interview with that. I told him to work on it and kept giving him some homework on a daily basis for the same. In 2 weeks he improved a lot and next day was the interview day. He had definitely worked really hard, he moved from below average to average but that was definitely not sufficient in this competitive scenario. So I told him that when you introduce yourself, tell them that you are aware that you don’t have great communication skills but still you are proud of it; owing to where you started and where you have reached and that you are still improving. I also gave him couple of other basic hygiene tips. After the interview, he called and told me that the interviewers were really happy with his introduction. When the final results were out, he had converted that one call he got.
